The only Alpina that I knew of in OZ was a mate (DJP) who had a 3 series Alpina.

I'm pretty sure I've seen an alpina 5 series. I'm no alpina expert (by any stretch), but it looked legit.

I'm not so sure how well the E28 M535i info relates to Australia... Every M535i I've been in had lower and stiffer feeling suspension than the normal E28 535i's I've been in, and they also had the full Recaro interiors and the reverse dogleg box (not sure if normal 535i's got that?), but that says the only diffecrence between M535i and 535i was the bodykit and the steering wheel

I think the reverse dogleg box was a close ratio option, so not all the M535i would have them I think...

DJP is good - but I have not seen him for a while - He's tried to get me a ride in an M5 a few times but no go.

It's pretty common for US stuff to be wrong, wrong in the sense that they seem to write things like only US cars are in existance. Quite often some major differences between US and euro versions (like the M535i for example). Dog leg boxes, mtechnic suspension (lowered, stiffer springs/shocks), diff ratio's, engine power outputs (and different compression ratio's). Sometimes you have to take what you read with a grain of salt, a lot of americans dont know other spec vehicles exist
