the company i work for is developing A/C for a certain popular australian racing car, works pretty well.

in some classes you can run a bigger restrictor than usual if you have A/C, so it is worthwhile (especially as it just switches off under full throttle anyway),

also, if there is a weight limit on the car, your ballast might as well do something useful.

if you're only doing short races a vest filled with phase change goo would be awesome.

we made some for our solar car drivers - just freeze em before the race.

some company started making pukka ones for AFL teams to use a bit back - i remember seeing the cows and brisbane use 'em.

        look up the supplier perhaps?

Heh, I haven't needed to use it yet!
But wearing it around to test it, it feels very bloody cold. They're good for about 30 -45minutes or so they reckon.
I got it for Malaysia, but they change the race so it starts at midnight and finishes at midday, so it doesn't get hot enough to need it.

IFAIK Jim Richards uses his AC in his Porsche even during special stages of tarmac rally? And then there was talk of actually getting more power with the AC on due to cooler intake temperatures or something, no idea how much truth there is to it...
