Yep, IMOA was doing 66's, as are a couple of the EVO's around the traps, and newer model STi's...I've never seen an older model Rex or STi do quicker than a 1.08...that's not to say it hasn't been done, just I haven't seen/heard of it...Originally posted by GSRmanpeterD: 65 on full slicks is good.. but i vaguely remember IMOA saying he had dropped into the 66's on DOT slicks in his 200SX.
and looking at the records,

Still...interested to see a 65 with proof...

dont have any proof, we just had a mates timing mechanism, most other days it was stopwatch time (spent a lot of time there). Did a few laps in the 65's the day we used the timing box though, obviously any stopwatch time is +/- a second or so.
Honestly i'd say on full slicks with a more talented driver than me there was some more time in it. the car was putting out a tad more power than your averge evo or sti - had it dyno'd out to over 200kw atw at a couple of places that tuned it, whatever that means. when it was a stock MY00 it pushed out about 115kw. i'm pretty sure GTP had power output regulations right? (i like the corners but it really hauled ass down the straight too)
a friend of mine in a pretty heavily worked evo6 was running around the same times as i recall. We'd both been there a few times with GTP cars doing testing. (infact I bought quite a lot of tires from peter haines). Tires and the coilies made the most difference to me.
