thanks EDO, i will buy 3.

i am actually thinking of the previous shape (mark IV) not the new sloppy loking thing. they are getting around the low 40k mark now which i think is good value.

needs the haldex as they are basically a front wheel drive until there is some slip and then teh rear kicks in.

    exhaust note is awesome.

about 15k above what you'd pay for a good hot hatch eg. gti, mps3 etc.
Its a pity Seat's importer went broke, we could also have something like this in that hot hatch lineup.

      http://paultan.org/archives/2006/07/...ts-240-horses/

      Seat Leon Cupra

      240hp, 300nm (@2200rpm), top speed of 247km/h & 0-100 in 6.4

Reckon they would have been pretty well priced too under the Seat banner.

        Pity they killed drivers....

I don't see the value over a Gti to be honest. If you look at any of the Dutton comps, Gtis > R32s.

Plus you save $15k - potentially for mods to the Gti.

They are a real nice car to drive, sound wicked & are alot of fun when you get the chance to wind them out.Better car than the gti although it's more cramped inside but they seem overpriced at 55k-60k,or maybe it's just me.
an easy fix is get a mate to drive in front of you at 60 then 80 then 100 and mark in on your speedo with some liquid paper.

That top gear episode was pretty sweet. R32 certainly looks and sounds the business, but I'd still hold out for the Clio 197 and have some $$$$ left for a few light suspension mods. DIY Trophy anyone?

Wouldnt a clio be around $35k? That would leave you with $20k to spend on "light suspension mods". I'd hate to know where you shop! :D

lol....I should have said small amount of mods (ie dampers springs and bars perhaps). And still some $ left over for investmenmt (or hookers).

Have driven one (belongs to someone I have seen post here) with aftermarket suspension and haldex controller. Its a very cool car, and definitely something I will own. A very quick car point to point, and good fun on loose surfaces.

I'd like to say their shit. But they are actually pretty good to drive. Still seem weird though....... Anyway that probably didn"t help

Has anyone had any experiences with the GTI polo?

(VW r32 is a little out the price range)

Looking at the SS-V thread the R32 came well down the list in 0-400 and was not that quick compared to other for laptimes.

14.7 sec 0-400. OK so 0-400 times aren't everything, but even lap times where no up with the quicker cars.
