I spent today washing , clay barring, rotary polishing the wifeís VF SS , finished it off with the Q2 gyeon cancoat , brought it from car care products Brisbane based on what Iíd herd here , came out great thus far , can I stack coat upon coat ? How much is too much ? Iíve stopped at one coat so far , missus need the car on Tuesday so without me taking leave thatís all Iíll can get done in my time off . Without being on a PC whatís the best way to throw up some pictures?

They're all similar. Nothing wrong with opticoat. I jut feel Gyeon is a better product as they are constantly innovating.

Tim's red ute has durabead on it as does GMX's 1M. Got another PF car coming next week which is getting durabead too. In my opinion it and TacSystem which I also use are some of the best on the market.

Quick question for you Craig. Is it ok to use stuff like Bowden's Wheely Clean on the wheels now they've been Optisealed?

Can I please plug FLI355's quality of work here?

I had a sealant (fairly sure they used a Gyeon product) applied to the nopix' VF as part of an insurance claim, by a professional mob who charges $2k to apply it.
I have no qualms with the quality of the job they did, in terms of applying the product & how good the paint looks & how it's protected.

But Craig, your work is so much more meticulous in all details, which is an effect that's greater than the sum of it's parts … the car looked WAY better when you'd finished just correcting & waxing, because of little things like not getting fingerprints on the chrome-finish grille surrounds after you'd done the job.
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

Thanks mate. That's the thing. Detailing is all about the small things funnily enough. So many hacks in the industry. Guy at work took his brand new M4 to a "professional" shop and it came back with polish residue all over the sunroof seal, door seals and numerous other places. Charged him $2k and it was very ordinary with a cheap coating that'll be gone in 12 months.

My aim is that any car that comes to me never has to come back if the owner looks after it. Not a great business model but I pride myself in that fact.

Is it worth doing mine now Craig or wait another 12 months until the house is finished and it pretty much lives in the garage ?
The older i get, the better i was...

If its living outside most of the time the coating will definitely help it mate.
