Can I do this remotely? Only fair since Philo's call me all the time pretending to be an Aussie working for Telstra or one of the big 4.

Seriously would love something this but the third world doesn't appeal.

Yep, plenty of expats in Manila, and some very nice areas to live there.

If the package is right, you will have a very nice lifestyle.

Even better when the accommodation is paid for and the allowances mean you don't have to touch your salary to live there.

Only downside is the amount of shit I'm buying at the moment for cars because I can....

                That's long gone.

You need to establish whether you are a resident for tax purposes to get tax free for Australia, but then you have to pay local taxes. There are a few hoops to jump through.

You can just pay local tax if the two countries have a "tax treaty".

Or be like me and work on an aid project that is exempt from Australian tax and also exempt from the local taxes.

Ahh righto.. knew it used to be a thing but not sure if it still was or not.

I never did fuck all and came back and said to the tax office "im home, what do I owe"..... fuck all was the answer.

Problem is when you're established, packing up an leaving is hard, For somewhere like Singapore or HK I'd probably go for it. But Manila is a bridge too far. The actually looks right up my alley. 20+ years in IT, 10+ working in the Big4 in Retail Banking, Private Banking and Datwarehousing, remainder consulting to various sectors including Banking and Insurance etc etc.

                          Lets guess.

I'll start in Aussie dollars at

250K-300K + short term incentives at 20-40% of base.

There would probably some relocation / accom benefits too?
