At least Spa is back on the calendar this year. Monaco is THE F1 race... it aint going anywhere. If any, the races most likely to be canned are the French, Hungarian and Aussie GPs. No matter how dull the racing is at Barcalona - the fans will flock there to watch Alonso, and hence the big dollars it brings in.

Would love to see Hockenheim returned to its former glory. I loved it as the cars went off into the forest, returned 2 mins later to the stadium. Shame it is gone now.

Most significant thing about that was that it gave a chance for cars with low drag or high engine power but not necessarily brilliant handling a chance at winning.
Every now and again there is a car like that, liek the Williams 2002 when both drivers raced ahead. And they were again competitive at Monza.

These modern homogenous circuits don't produce racing like that.

The tracks these days seem to reward "clone" cars. gone are the days when one car was only good at 1/2 the tracks.

at least Monaco still rewards the chassis cars. In reality, this weekend showed just how good the McMerc is this year.

That shows exactly why your typical street circuit full of right angle turns is so shithouse. No variety and poor runoff areas hardly encourage edge driving or require compramised setups to open up opportunities for passing.
