    5. Yes you can (and they do) charge spectators for current Gravel Rallying events
Interesting if spectators can be charged when public gravel roads are being used, unless some of the takings go back to the Government. Anyway I'm sure that any of the few hardy spectators who don't mind a bush trek and getting covered in dust could easily find a way around that.

Whatever, let the promoters have a go, its their money to lose.

Richard, Most Rally events only transport on Public gravel roads, most of the competition is held on Forestry roads.

Everyone is required to purchase a permit to drive into any Forestry Road. This is inbuilt into an Entry fee, and also built into the cost of tickets for the spectator stages. Rally Q also run Shuttle busses into Spectator stages from the desiganted parking areas to reduce the distance people have to walk to get in to see the action. The other blow out cost involved that is hidden is repairing the roads after an event..... at some of the bills from Forestry!

Any type of motorsport should be encouraged. Even drifting, i mean hey, it gives the fuckwits somewhere to hang out... :p

If this series gets up and running, then great, good luck to them. Ultimately they will be judged on how good (or not) their racing is. If they fail, then so fucking what. It hasn't cost the nerds sitting behind their keyboards anything has it ??

Let me know when a rally gets 25000 spectators on a given day.

            Also 1300 is pure fantasy.

I hate spam and this shit me from the get go. Good luck to them.

Happens in Europe (Monte Carlo, Sweden, Finland, etc)... won't happen in Australia.

Has happened in Oz. I was there and you weren't born? Try Canberra in the 70's. Best rallies ever run in Oz. There were thousands of people at any given spectator point.

Anyone remember the stadium offroad series from maybe 10 years ago? That was a bunch of imported-from-US pickups with V8s around a motocross track. Speedweek used to cover it, but I believe it folded due to lack of competitor interest/cost for return.

I don't think this would be any different. Australia just isn't big enough for more than a couple of 'top level' series. Cost >> Demand.

I went to see them as the family I worked for had an Isuzu Sponsored Off Road Racer at the time, they were looking at turning their older car into one!
