Which one are you getting? Qstarz? They're pretty cheap on eBay at the moment. I've got a borrowed one for this weekend but something small, cheap, bluetooth and 5Hz is what I'm going to be shopping for for the bike for track days. Interested.Originally posted by MZ21 View PostNow onto the sales pitch. I have been looking locally for 5Hz GPS receivers and haven't really found anything under $120 + Postage. So I have sourced a batch from OS. I'm going to make these available to the PF crew for $89 delivered (Express Post). I'm targeting a regular sale price of $99.00 + Postage ($9.90)I touched my brother's wang and all I got was this lousy signature. If only I had a POWERCHIP to flick instead.

I'm looking at the GlobalTop range.
One because they 5Hz out the of box, so you don't need to fiddle with settings (as some may not want to do this)
They are a sealed unit. I have had other gps fall apart at the battery compartment at the track from all the bumps etc. It's no fun seeing gps bids flying across the cabin when you're attacking a corner.
The on/off button is capacitive touch, so no chance of it accidentially turn on or off.
If I'm happy with them I'll get a batch in (say 50 units) and see how they go.

The sample unit should be in Friday. So if you want you're quite welcome to that one if you're in a rush (once tested of course)Originally posted by SPDRCR View PostI'm in if you can get me one by Friday the 12th of June (and they work!). Need it for a track day on the 13th. PM me once you know everything will be cool and I can paypal you the money.

have played with this a little this morning- seems pretty good.
Do they make a 5 hz receiver with an external antenna- just wondering since I may want to use it in forests eventually?? and will need super powers powerness and stuff..

UPDATE:
Looking really good. The unit is very slim with no battery compartment etc to come off at the track.
pic below:

To attach windscreen you either apply velcro to the back of the unit or just tape to the windscreen.
The unit paired with my Nokia E90 and I had Racechrono logging at 38400 baud (5Hz) operations out of the box (ie no tweaking required with third party tools).
I'm going to give it a run at my test track (industrial loop around my place on the weekend) but that just a formality. Looking really good.
So who wants one?

This unit doesn't but I managed to get an excellent fix with 7 satelittes (according to Racechrono) inside the house!Originally posted by rowdytoot View PostDo they make a 5 hz receiver with an external antenna- just wondering since I may want to use it in forests eventually?? and will need super powers powerness and stuff..
So I reckon you will be fine, just make sure it's up against the windscreen.
