I had a play on my trip to and from work today. Velcro'd to the front of the dash.

Has very quick lock to satelites- even from cold start. Warm start it's almost instant- WIN .

have imported some data into performance box- looks quite good- lateral resolution should be sufficient to pick lines on a track.. I can see clearly one side of the same road from the other in my traces.

There are a couple of artefacts in the data occasionally- but they are obvious and infrequent - like the instant drop from 55 35 at one point... but that may be from the data export who knows..

Screen shot in performance box is the attachment..

Got mine ta, looks the goods and seemed to work on my drive to work OK yesterday, found out my car speedo is out by 10%, no wonder I catch all those people at fixed speed cameras .

The real test will be a track day, hoping battery life lasts the full day without it having to be turned on and off between sessions.

        Ta MZ.
I touched my brother's wang and all I got was this lousy signature. If only I had a POWERCHIP to flick instead.

Pretty sure they quote 20 hours or so a track should be no problem. So *DONT* leave your phone logging between sessions as you will fill up space and use up phone battery in no time. Pause RaceChrono between sessions.

Boges- it should last easily- it turns itself off after a while of no bluetoof coms, but I reckon I've run mine on it's 1st charge for about 4 hours now.

I'll post up some more data in the next coupla days- my 1/4 mile run in the navara, and some comparision stuff hopefully.

I need about 8 hours, fucked if I'm gonna want to be turning it on and off during the day, especially considering it will be covered in tape on the top triple clamp.

*lap timing, what lap timing dude, I wasn't timing myself at a track day honest... It's the motec...*

I don't pause between sessions, I create a new session, dunno if this is what most do, I have three sessions from one track day at my last outing. Pros and cons of pausing between sessions vs. creating new sessions?

Phone's been fine, can run a phone with bluetooth on for 8 hours no worries.

Have you got any more of these things. I'm interested in how it goes for an article in Race Magazine.

Any of these left? I'm keen to give it a try at Mallala this weekend.

Good thread revival, can this unit take an external aerial, or is it better at picking up satellite signal than a normal phone based GPS? I ask because I can't pickup anything at the local hillclimb track on a phone, this may be a great solution.

you can get bluetooth adaptors that are usually much better than a phone gps...

                                All mine are gone.

**BUT MAKE SURE YOU GET ** a 5Hz (or even 10 Hz if your software supports it) GPS.

The common 1Hz ones are no better than what you have on your phone.

Cheapest on ebay is about $119 for 5Hz, but you should be able to do better shopping around.
