Yeah Nick is fine. Sore neck.

Ran out of road at the exit of Carosell, found the tyres and flipped it over.

Had a good day at Lakeside today with Paul from Time Attack, managed a PB with the new mods. Ran a 57.27, unfortunately only got 4 runs today as tyres had belts come through, pumped with the PB

Great work Rob, It looked mental coming down into Hungrys.
Best i did was a 60.6, i think with tyres and a few adjustments there is a 59 there
              next time. Fingers crossed!

rule of thumb for what time is achievable at Lakeside is the same as your QR Sprint time. Once you learn the track.

Scooby36 running 56.9 with just 200rwkw and a very basic car is just mind blowing.

Hi Harry, There is know one i Know that runs the same times at QR sprint as Lakeside. To give an example I ran on the new upgrades a 56.6 on the sprint at 11:45am in March when it was 32 degrees. So I can see I should be able to get into the 55's on the sprint with cooler temps, but running 55's at Lakeside is a big ask. I feel the difference is between 0.7 & 1.0 between the tracks. That was a great time from Callum

There is a lot more involved in doing comparable times at Lakeside than at QR altough I agree with the basic proposition. Look at all the crashes happening at lakeside, not just at one particular place but all around the circuit. At the rish of offending some people Lakeside tests your basic driving skills like no other, some can drive quite quickly yet lack those basic skills and for them it's only a matter of time.

A 'rule of thumb' is not intended to be strictly accurate or reliable for every situation.

I came up with that based on my Supra, and its held true for a variety of rwd cars of people I know running the same setup/spec on both tracks, with times ranging from 56 to 62 seconds. It pretty much works within a few tenths either way once they get a handle on lakeside. Scooby just blew it out of the water with his latest 56.9 at Lakeside compared to his recent QR Sprint PB of 57.6 - but I think he's improved the front splitter just before the latest Lakeside run. And that 56.9 is pretty extraordinary for that car I think.

You obviously know Lakeside really well Rob, so maybe my rule of thumb doesn't work for AWD's. Its fairly likely the AWD's get more of a boost in time at QR Sprint off the 2 slow corners, and that the fast flowing nature of Lakeside negates the AWD advantage a bit - although I think there is an advantage out of carousell, hungry and eastern loop, its certainly nothing like the advantage you'd get over rwd's out of the spoon drain and onto the front straight at QR Sprint.

Congrats on the PB too Rob! Hauling arse for a car with no aero mods!

My PBs in the Rolla only vary by 0.5s between the two tracks. So pretty close. Not sure how the other wrong wheel drives compare though.

I think the limiting factor with lap times for myself and many others at Lakeside is the thought that if you do make a mistake the consequences are going to be monumental

I think 59's will pull me up next time, I dont want to drive any harder at Lakeside than i did yesterday, im hoping better tyres and setup will get me there rather than driving the wheels off it!

Qr by comparison is relatively safe so most would be more comfortable pushing much harder.

Yep, you just have to take someone knowledgable for a passenger ride at a much slower speed to get some perspective from their reaction. The other thing is what is the limit of your car? You can find this at QR with a lot less potential drama, at Lakeside making just a slight mistake in the high speed bits can have serious results.
