    Hi Cal
At the midweek Lakeside sprints you get four 5 lap sessions (20 laps in total).
the ones I have been to have always been pretty laid back with no more than 40 cars there.
Are you looking to head out on the 24th?

That sucks Richard. How much of a delay are you expecting? Will you still be a chance for the Zed day?

I prefer the sprint track too.

I can't understand anyone prefering the sprint track...

That second right-left-right on the sprint track has got to be the slowest, least rewarding corner sequence in the known universe! Give me the two left handers that were designed to be part of a racetrack over spoon drains anyday! lol

Whether you understand it or not is irrelevant Harry. I have run on the Clubman track three times and don't particularly enjoy it.

I know a couple of people who prefer it when they use the bus stop at Lakeside. I don't.

          Everyone has different preferences.

hrd is right, clubman's proper left handers beat sprints drainage ditches.
plus they refuse to install kerbs which would make sprint acceptable, therefore in trying for a fast lap, people will always cut and drag dirt all over the track.

fingers crossed once they resurface it, clubman will become the new default time attack layout and sprint will be buried forever !

Personally I would rather they extend off the back of turn two and offer an elevation change. This idea was floated several years ago and I thought it had merit.

If the Clubman does indeed become the default track, as it seems to have for the Open sprints at least, I doubt I will bother running out there again. While neither layout is particularly entertaining my preference would be to continue on the Sprint track.

Clubman is like the full track, just as boring but smaller. On the other hand there is a real art to mastering the Sprint's turn three complex, which I have never done but have tried to follow just a couple of quick blokes through there and went WTF, where did they go?!? If you can go fast through there you will do great times on the Sprint.

Cutting the corners there is unnecessary and not part of going fast, only people who do that are inconsiderate tossers.

The reason it never happened is they spent all their money on Lakeside. Fine by me. It will probably still happen one day.

Never seen anyone cutting corner at turn 3 and the crap there I don't think its as a result of people cutting there either.

Here... 3 weeks ago turn 3.

i will totally drop a wheel off on a hotlap if it will help me embarass some 4WD or bigHP hero's laptime.
raised kerbs would be great to create some punishment for doing so without dirt getting dragged onto the line.

and harry was cranking out low 58's on sprint back in 07

Driving a gutless 4 banger the clubman track is much better for keeping a car on song, it flows so much better.

58.3 in the CA18DET 1200. first time I'd driven it anywhere except Mt Cotton. Had no idea what it would handle like at speed. That was in November heat in 07. did 2 sessions before the turbo basically fell off the manifold.

You weren't planning on bragging about beating up on my 180rwkw 1530kg Supra on road tyres were you? It did a 61.4 as you might remember - you & Wilbur where there in Dec 08 when I did that time after the oil down in turn1 that day. You ran 63.6 in your much lighter and much more powerful 280ZXR on semis. Which is only half a second faster than my old 116bhp Datto 1200 on Hankook tyres went the first time I ever drove QR in 2001.

                              So what's yours? :D

Yes I much prefer Lakeside too.

I had forgotten how uninteresting QR is until last Saturday.
