Dan had to put old hards on for the last stint as he had already used up all of his new tyres. Those tyres were 7 laps old when he started his last stint. The sauber had brand new mediums. I don't think there was anything wrong with Dan or the car, he was just being overly cautious so not to fall off the cliff in the final few laps. smart driving really.
I thought torro rosso were a bit dumb at the time with his strategy in the middle part of the race not covering off against diresta and rosberg (when he was quicker than both of those guys at that point) but in hind sight, they obviously went a little bit longer with the newer tyres knowing they would have to bolt on the older boots for the final stint.
In the end, once again, we see pace dictated by tyre conservation. It will be quite refreshing to have a race next round in Monaco where tyre conservation "shouldn't" be an issue. If we're lucky that is.

They didn't show it on the telecast, but Dan was holding back a MUCH faster Gutierrez (who got the fastest lap of the race) for a few laps to maintain his 10sec position. I think it was maybe 3 laps, where Gutierrez was 0.5sec behind him.Originally posted by XXX19XShitbreak is the epitome of perfection.

Yeah Gutierrez was the last to pit, something like 6 laps to the end.Originally posted by Shitbreak View PostThey didn't show it on the telecast, but Dan was holding back a MUCH faster Gutierrez (who got the fastest lap of the race) for a few laps to maintain his 10sec position. It's sad that we are discussing Ricci's performance based on looking at Live Timing. How hard is it to give us PIP when things are going down.
Something has to be done about the tyre situation, Pirelli is only doing what they are told but it was a close call for Alonso http://www.planetf1.com/driver/18227...had-a-puncture
EDIT: DONE! lol http://en.espnf1.com/spain/motorsport/story/107916.html

I reckon I watched about 15% of yesterday's race on the actual TV. the rest was all timing, especially considering neither ric or web had any air time.Originally posted by WRXCORE View PostIt's sad that we are discussing Ricci's performance based on looking at Live Timing.
