    Cracks appear
The comments about each other become increasingly heated as the season wears on. The first noticeably tetchy words come in the wake of Hamilton's win at the Spanish Grand Prix in May. It is his fourth victory in succession and moves him to the top of the championship standings, three points ahead of Rosberg. After the race, Hamilton says he needs to find a way to break his team-mate's mental strength. It is a comment that appears to irk Rosberg, who retorts: "Break me down mentally? I think he will struggle with that one."
ps Lucy: whinging, bitching and moaning, wanting to retire when things don't go your way, sounding and acting despondant, and crying to the press are not signs of mental strength. HTH
Rosberg meanwhile, still appears cool as a cucumber...

What, you mean like leading the race when he got hit?

no, like not squeezing his team mate that extra bit uneccesarily and carrying on in the lead to presumably win the race.

This mental stuff is all a load of bullshit - neither driver has "cracked" at all.

Lewis would have every right to have a melt down - burning car, failing brakes, etc - nope, he has just sucked it up and drove.

          Rosberg too.

            It was the racing line.

Which season were you watching mate? :D

On his day Lewis is very quick, but on the whole Rosberg has been the better driver this season due to consistency and great qualifying.

Not broken, the bloke wanted to retire from the race on lap 3. As soon as Lewis utters the words I can't the race is over. It's like his last season at McLaren just moaning on the radio about everything.
                If in doubt power out

Hard to qualify well when your car is burning.

He screwed up Austria, Silverstone, Canada to be fair though

In a straight fight Lewis has been faster, whilst using less fuel and tyre for most of the season. Except its hard to do that when needing to come through the pack.

you know how this is the first year of the new engines, and you only get 5, and he had one melt in Hungary, and one which wasn't right in Aus... if he knew the car was fucked, he was right to want to not chew out the motor at the second hungriest track of the year engine wise.

p.s have you got a link to show him wanting to retire lap 3?

He said it on the live timing commentary feed very early. Not sure if lap 3, but was well before first stops.

If you use the paid live timing app on ipad, you get crap loads more car radio than the TV shows.

Your last point is the issue though. He has had to come through the pack - usually due to mistakes of his own making. This is why I think Rosberger has been the better driver this season. He (mostly) hasn't put himself in a bad position due to better qualifying.

Yes I do appreciate that Lewis has had more mechanical issues.

To be fair - Canada contributed to his car fail due to following the hot air off Nico's car

                          He won Silverstone

Austria was second, but its debatable if he could of won, as they both started behind the Williams.

Germany and Hungary were both brilliant drives no?

Clive from what I read he said the car was terrible, but didn't ask to park it up on lap 3.

this paints a good picture of the racing line:

this is pushing the guy wide for no real reason after you've won the corner

you mean after not getting what he deserved from his first lap attempt to throw it at the scenery, of course...
                                that wasn't exactly brilliant
