Out of interest, how does a V8SC compare to a GT3-spec car after an event like Bathurst or the 12 hour? Ie need for rebuild/cost etc. Seems like the built for purpose V8SC would come off better?

I remember hearing rumours about the V8 Supercar management trying to buy the rights to the Aus GT3 championship, was this ever verified? Makes sense what they were trying to achieve by doing that I guess.
Also, fuck the BTCC style formula for a joke. Ive tried to watch it but I just dont like whats essentially a field full of tail draggers playing demolition derby with each other. Cunts crashing into cunts intentionally/punting em off to pass....fuck that.

I've found the V8 utes to be far more entertaining to watch than the V8SC.Originally posted by oioioioioiI've never said or implied everyone on that page was a deadshit - just that there's a concentration of deadshits there. Like it or not the top level of motorsport has moved on from production based stuff. Heck even GT3 which started out as modified road cars have ended up suffering the same fate of all production based racing, the arms race between manufacturers going on with each new evolution of their cars are blowing out the costs to play, luckily it is underpinned by rich gentlemen drivers :w:

AFAK all the cars that run in the BTCC are available for sale here, so you have relavence here that you might not get in the GT3 category (and if you look back at Australian racing, we've always been into a 'production based' car racing).
This will be annoying for CAMS too, didn't they say last year when they bought the F4s that they only wanted three top series in Australia in the future, F4, GT3 and V8SC. Might only be two at this rate.My car

Went to the V8s at homebush two years ago. Ticket to get in the gate was about $100 from memory. General admission no access to any grand stand seating. That was alot more expensive.
They actually had barriers up near the grand stand areas that stopped GA ticket holders viewing the track at those locations. Seriously?

How many years can CAMS fund F4 with their own (members) money? Don't get me started on that crock of shit!
As much as I love GT3 over the other two I doubt it'll become top gun in Aussie motorsports.
Touring cars are king here but the category has to adapt to the times and whilst they have plans for the future they should've done that five years ago.Sutherland Shires #1 Escort? is that like being the 4th best prostitute in Kazahkstan?
