Last year I was looking at a damaged composite front guard off Scotty’s Falcon and noticed it had small lead weights attached on the back of it, down where the guard meets the sideskirt. Maybe the guards have a minimum weight so they made them lighter then stuck the ballast on them down low? Crazy attention to detail

There is a quote by Adrian Newy, but be fucked if i can find it to quote it correctly.
But it is along the lines of,
its what the rules say, not what the rules meant to say.

Picture quality during the onboards was abysmal, like it wasn't HD at all. External shots looked crisp and clean as normal. I'm sure it wasn't like that last time out or am I imagining things?
It's Roger Penske, the man has always worked the rules without actually breaking them. As I said on a FB group about this, he may go to the same mufflers as everyone else but the crossmember under the car will be from a Western Star truck.
Racecar weights are funny, DJR's 2nd XD was legal weight, right on the minimum homlogated weight, but was a hundred or so kilos lighter than every other Falcon. I recall the works E30 M3s in the WTCC were all legal weight, but a random weighing of a customer car saw the works cars nearly 100kg lighter, and the wealthy customer car owner slightly pissed off.
Can’t they hang lead ballast under the car wherever they like? Or is there some rule that mufflers are the only item allowed to hang below a specified height?
