This - even Morris alludes to it in his show with Ingall.

Erebus would be an ok place for someone like Stanaway given they already have a fast but moody driver.

I hope JLB does very well at Tickford - having to endure that Webb car would not have been fun.

Nah, they are stretching the rules further than most.

I would wager the smaller teams cheat as much but don't "sail so close to the wind" as the big boys due to lack of budget to cheat.

The rule book is only a guideline for the starting point of where to cheat and what to cheat with.

I an sure we have all heard good cheat stories at all levels of racing. Some of the things I saw in NSW street sedans when I first started racing where great feats of engineering.

I also imagine Simona down in 25th isn't getting a fine tooth comb being run over her car to find the unfair advantage she's packing.

KR did a good enough job hobbling that car anyway.

Had a chuckle at Ryan having a laugh and quickly wheeling him out the back. Ditto the WAU PR guys denials that they had no idea what Chaz was doing there.

Its a shame KR didn’t do given that was the only way of getting results out of the Kelly Krate. Hopefully Simona can get an enduro ride in a decent car next year and we can see her full potential.

Are the engines dissassembled for the inspection?

Why weren't rocker ratio and lobe lift stated in the document? If either were out of spec then its open and shut. Why are V8SC using a different method of measuring valve lift to the guys building them?

Moving the pedestals, messing with heights etc would definitely affect valve event profile but it doesn't magic up lift that aint there unless I'm missing something that's secret squirrel.

Also, what are the chances that an engine is built to deliberately wear over the sessions and hope it ends up under the imposed limits at the end of qually/top10.

Did they cheat, I'm not sure given there is a lot missing from the cams release but at the end of day the engine was not to spec and they were punished for it.

If cars start getting pitted for a weekend because something is funky rather than blatantly substituted or deliberately wrong I imagine there will be a lot of nervous teams.

When the new technical board came in at the start of the season, they openly stated that scrutineering and technical inspections would be significantly ramped up during the season, to ensure compliance.

What people forget, is that Scott McLaughlin didn't build the engine, and neither did DJRTP...

Todd Hazelwood confirmed at BJR for 2020.

Hes done bloody well this year, at times outshining the Redbull cars in quali, so Im looking forward to seeing what he can do as part of a 4 car team next year.

At the end of the day no engine builder (especially of a supercar engine) is going to build it with 5 out of 16 valves out of tolerance.

Todd will hopefully go alright. Le Broq will struggle to make the top 10 I reckon. I reckon Mostert will regularly run in the top 10. The WAU cars seem to have come on song recently if that continues into the new year then he might actually go alright.

i saw an engine come apart after a supercar (and sprintcar) builder in qld of note, for a firends prod sports car (6lt svo block etc), quality of work (at considerable cost) was woeful

They've also been testing the control shock so may well have a small head start on the other teams.

I can see it somewhat shuffling the pack, at least a little bit for the start of next year.

It was very telling at the start of this season how much it hurt the teams going from a multi spring set up, back to the single spring, so here is hoping that 2020 throws up some surprises

I would suspect that Tickford and Erebus will get the biggest advantage from the move to a control Shock from SupaShock

Erebus is already using SupaShock and pretty sure it was Tickford who first brought them into the game and they were part of the reason Winterbottom won his title

Apparently the units that WAU were using in Newcastle were from SupaShock but a totally different spec to next years control shocks - think they were mainly trying to get a basic understanding of the product and how it works compared to the Ohlins they had been using previously

My understanding (not that I am someone who even has .0001 percent influence in the sport) was the current stuff everyone is running won't be the same as the control shock and Wau have tested a version of it on behalf of SC.
