The Camaro looks great, and the new Mustang looks a lot better too.

100mm wider, 100mm lower and 100kg lighter always helps too

Word is the start might be brought forward to avoid some nasty weather.

By this you mean ensure the race finishes at the perfect time for tv broadcasters.

30 minutes isn't going to avoid any weather, it's just an attempt to have a better race time finish to lead into the news. Generally the race is 6h15-6h30 long, an 11:30am start with that duration means a 5:45-6pm finish time. The forecast is for the worst of the weather to be in the morning, so the shift earlier puts more of the race under wet conditions.

(Not saying it's not a good thing - just that the motivation is TV based, not avoiding weather. Personally I much prefer 10/10:30am start time.)

while I know there isnt really another choice. HSV have stopped importing/converting the camaro already 2 years before it will even start in the V8SC, then there is also not much faith that the camaro will survive past this generation. So they might be in the same boat 5-6 years time from now anyway with not that much of a choice, unless they try to bring in stuff like the 400zx and supra or something like that.

I agree. Essentially a time certain finish like the sprints which I fucking hate but thats the world we are in.

Thankfully Bathurst is the one non time certain finish race of the year.

Agree, time certain finishes are terrible.

And that's basically the plan. The new chassis allows for other coupes and cars to come in. Don't want to develop an engine, we have one you can use.

As it has been for many years, it is developing into our version of NASCAR with as many control components as possible with different bodies draped over the tube chassis.

Am I correct in calculating that McLaughlin can't lose this years V8SC 'C'Ship' as he's 305pts in front of 2nd on the ladder?

Already won it, so could be carnage in just going for the win by anyone who was in contention until the Bend.
