Mclaughlin's overtake only worked because winterbottom saw him and let him through.Originally posted by BLO 767 View PostOh come on, similar being the keyword!!
Getting it done and looking like a hero as opposed to failing and setting off a chain reaction, race-ending two podium cars.
Ambitious AF from Scotty and largely luck + skill that it didn't high five the wall, but fuck it looked good.
If he'd fought it as mclaughlin did at bathurst they would have collided.
Good to see scotty go for it though, and whincup at bathurst too. If the drivers didn't it would be so boring.

New engines deferred to 2018, so 2017 is same as this year.Originally posted by MZ21 View PostSo any news on 2017 if we'll be seeing any 4s or 6s? What about Mustang etc??
New Ford body shape in 2018 - choose between Mondeo and (outside chance) Mustang. Penske wants Mustang and are agitating in Detriot, and PRA will do whatever they can get Ford Australia to agree to. Because of IP in bodyshape, any professional team requires a license from the IP owners to use the shape. Engine "might" be the V6 TT but it is not homologated in AU unless it is in the Mondeo so it is Coyote V8 or 2.3 litre ecoboost turbo.
New Holden body shape in 2018 - will be the run-on version of Opel/Vauxhall Insignia possibly running 2.8L GM TT V6 but who the fark knows (maybe Roland and he is not telling).
Garry Rogers apparently has a new manufacturer lined up
The NISMO brand is entering the AU new car market so "maybe" Nissan Motorsport will get R35 shell and the NISMO GT3 V6 TT engine with NISMO branding

Yeah, but Supercars isn't a parity series. So whilst everyone certainly is extremely close on pace, if your fancy new engine that cost a squillion dollars to get running is down on power, you're screwed. It's better for them to go full BOP parity or full development, not the "anything goes as long as it's within this teeny tiny box" formula that they're so high on.Originally posted by Reedy View PostParity is gonna get all fucked up with the new engine formula. Pretty much the only thing going for this series is how level the playing field is. I'd rather watch GT3 cars than whatever abomination these boats are set to become.
