Pretty sure it’ll get delayed till ‘23

its been a clusterfuck of poor management.

I harp on about it but with paddle shift and poll upon poll stating emphatically that the fans don’t want it and in addition nearly every driver doesn’t want it yet the they are still pushing forward with it, I mean are they that stupid. They claim it’s about cost saving and paddle shift being more sympathetic mechanically but fuck no cunt has lunched a motor from a missed shift in donkeys years.

At the end of the day it’s about the show. Changing gear yourself and blipping the throttle etc is a massive part of that. The current management have lost the plot completely.

The ones crying for paddles the most are X-Trac themselves, which is the most bizarre part.

If you can't build a transaxle up to the job to last the kays it should, you shouldn't have gone for the Tender.

Albins couldn't either, and then they got their shit together.

          Well that's gonna fucking suck.
Last I heard it was QLD Govt being fuckwits - they are happy to have the bubble for the NRL, but not Supercars. What a bunch of cocks.

I expect SMP1 to be GP circuit, SMP2 and 3 to be short circuit and SMP4 back to normal GP layout.
          SMP4 definitely under lights
Possibly SMP2 as well or with "some" racing under lights as SMP2/3 are 2 day meetings.

I'll miss SMP3 as Challenge Bathurst is on that weekend.

Courtney announced on a new multi year deal with Tickford, with whispers that Jake Kostecki is going to get Jack Le Broq's seat, in a direct swap.

Supecars have put up a $25,000 bonus to the overall points winner from all 4 rounds at SMP.

Overall, I think they have struck a good balance with all the different race formats, day races, night races, sprint races, and 250km races, but its a shame they didnt choose to use different layouts for atleast 1 of the weekends.

And finally, it looks like Bathurst will be started later this year, and while it hasnt been confirmed yet, the expected start time is 12pm local, so Supercars have convinced channel 7 to delay the news broadcast until the race concludes. For the first time ever, I am relieved that the Japanese GP isnt on this year, as that would have been a major clash...

I try not to whinge about anything Supercars does as there’s plenty of people out there doing a better job of it, but I was disappointed that they’re only using the one SMSP layout out of the 3 possible. They must have a good reason which they have not communicated.

Yes, there must be some good reason for not doing it.

Im fairly certain the new lighting infrastructure covers all iterations of the track, although I may be wrong there. so perhaps that is a contributing factor?

I'm at a loss to figure out why. The lighting is designed to cover all 3 iterations of the circuit, so it's not that.

Supercars, now the ultimate in contrived viewer entertainment which has no relation to real motorsport. But which chews up sponsor $ for advertising purposes, the ultimate corporate wank.

To be fair. This season’s fucked. Just run Bathurst and forget the rest.

Long circuit sucks in terms of actually racing on the extension. Too narrow, doesn't flow.

Short track might've been ok for quickfire sprint races. Looked alright back in '96.

(HB) I've driven Formula Ford on the long track section. It'd fucking rock with SC. The dive bombs going down the hill would be an immense opportunity.

It's this attitude to why I think they stuck to the one configuration. Because the other two "might" suck and they're too soft to take that risk.

It's like the last time the talk of running the short circuit came up, "Oh no, can't do that - it takes away passing opportunities". Well, yeah, but there's more laps so you get more passing opportunities on the spots that are still there. And who cares, change is good, different is good - you gotta have a go at this stuff!

I just don't think the current mob care....
