I'd guess not, hence his choice to 'retire'. He has also stated that he'd have rather sat out the season than race with Erebus. I suspect the actual truth might be closer to the middle than what SvG is saying. Well, maybe not issues of sexism, but deeper issues than what's come to light???? Can't imagine a racing driver choosing to not race for a year than racing with a certain team.Originally posted by TJ View PostYeah but obviously had some sort of clause to get out ?
I'd imagine its more than just a case of not wanting to race for an uncompetitive team.Originally posted by XXX19XShitbreak is the epitome of perfection.

He believed his contract was with SBR. When SBR became Erebus, he believed the contract no longer applied.
SBR and Erebus disagreed. SBR let him go on the proviso that he sit the next season out. Announcements from both parties didn't line up. He didn't quite tell the full story at the time, and neither did they.
Sometime in the new year, a deal was done between Holden, Tekno, and VIP as long as they could get SvG on board. He rocks up to Clipsal 2013, SBR and Erebus set the legals onto him.
Through the sands of time, over the next 4 years, it becomes quite clear that in the best interests of his career, ruffling SBR and Erebus feathers was a small price to pay. Last Friday, declares that he may have cocked up the handling of his departure way back when, due to his own naivity.
Monday rolls around, and Betty comes out sooking, saying it's not a gender thing, it's a gender thing.
Betty can blameshift all she wants, but the fact is, even with SvG there, those cars would've still amounted to fuck-all. They had some decent drivers come and go during the Merc years, same goes for staff. At the end of last season, they had ZERO staff on hand. Everyone either bailed, or were pushed out the door. The cars were nearly a season behind in development, with a massive inventory of obsolete front uprights, engine parts, etc. All the new stuff was still on Autodesk, because there was so much of the old shit yet to be used. They sunk an astronomical amount of money into the E-Cell. They had AMG design moulds for a RHD version, then they bought the IP to it, and had them produce 10 or 12 of them, or something stupid like that. Guess how many are being used in the series now? 1.
I guess all of that shit is SvG's fault too?Originally posted by brewdlesIn short, some cunt at test and tune had a 250cc honda turning to 11ty and it sounded porn. Do that.

If you've ever spoken to SVG (which of course she would've) you'd know exactly what he meant with a statement like that. Guy is just super dry, super loves racing to win, and has no/neutral personality.
I can practically hear him saying it as he throws a grain of salt in the air to take it with.

Apparently the sheer price of it at the time, ruled it out.Originally posted by St00ge View PostWasn't their talk of making the e-cell a spec part after some of the big side impacts? The gamble could of paid off on that at least :w:
Then later on, she offered them at cost price which was said to still be dearer than the Racetech seats that most of the field use.Originally posted by brewdlesIn short, some cunt at test and tune had a 250cc honda turning to 11ty and it sounded porn. Do that.
