Wouldn't be that hard to replace the sheet metal and bolt in a Holden/Ford/etc motor given everything underneath is controlled?

Someone who has been around as long as Garry Rogers will have all his ducks in a row.
Signing Tander will more than likely give him some backdoor Holden support with panels, engines to swap out the Ovlov shit before the season. GRM having run Holdens before will be on top of the engines, and with the rest being bolt on panels with rest of the chassis being control, it shouldn't take the team too long to back on the money in terms of pace.

Made sense for Tander to be at GRM or BJR. I'm not a huge fan but he drives hard, difficult to pass and generally heads forward in a race. Teaming with the Moff is good, two very hard nose drivers.Sandown 1.23.31

I remember him climbing out of the Le Mans Porsche with a grin from ear to ear.
I wish I'd gone over to have a chat to him. Was only a few months before he passed.Originally posted by brewdlesIn short, some cunt at test and tune had a 250cc honda turning to 11ty and it sounded porn. Do that.

That podium at Melbourne was special. I was down the back of the track and when he came by on the last lap everyone was clapping and cheering. RIP JROriginally posted by TJ View PostToday is 5 years since Jason Richards passed away also.
I remember his DVS win at Adelaide and the podium in Melbourne.Sutherland Shires #1 Escort? is that like being the 4th best prostitute in Kazahkstan?

Sounds to me like Volvo think they have rights to the full car, not just a couple of panels. Will be very interesting how it pans out. Imagine Garry can't field the cars, Tander sits out Clipsal, V8SC then fine GRM $150k for breaking REC contract. Man shit could get really messy. Typical big company syndrome, throwing their weight around coz they can, after all the execs running the company aren't spending their own coin on the legal fees, Garry on the other hand is. Garry's just a little fly and Volvo have a big swatter, total cunts.

2016 V8 Supercar season - discussion thread
Well the decisions been made. Back to Commodores for GRM. No Chev powered Ovlovs because apparently Gary sees the difference between a sports sedan and a touring car even though Supercars are basically sports sedans these days...

Disappointing to see the Volvo's go, but the right decision in the end. Seeing Volvo's running Chevs was never going to be appeal regardless of the rest being the same under the skin. Will be interesting to see how Garth performs against the Walkinshaw cars given GRM are using Walkinshaw engines.Daily - VF SV6. Former daily, now with more up on blocks - S15 200SX.
