I can see Volvo's position on the engines, if GRM purchased the engines and fucked up development and blew them up, it would be bad publicity. Volvo probably had a similar position regarding the Volvo body but it seems had less control over it. It seems to me like GRM could have used the Volvo body if they wanted, but GRM decided not to chuck a chev in it.

Yeah, not what you'd call a great livery for the halo team. Doesn't seem particularly fitting for HRT cars. Be interesting to see what the Walkinshaw cars look like when revealed. I'm tipping we'll see a return to HSV Dealer Team or some such.

Why the Volvo hate, they fulfilled their contract obligations and chose not to extend, if anyone is a prick it is GR who thought he could bully them into something they had no intention of being a part of. I think that Volvo told Volvo Oz that if they wanted to go racing they could but VA had to pay for it and VA simply ran out of money and sought the support of the parent company who said no more.

volvo said they wanted the cars, they own them etc. in reality its a controlled chassis with controlled parts 1 tenth of the car at most would be volvo stuff if that.
