I was rapt to see that announcement too

Then saddened to read about the 14 year old who died, racing in the European Talent Cup, at Aragon, after falling and being hit by a following bike...RIP Hugo Millan

After watching his entire career, from 125cc, to 250cc, to 500cc, through all the iterations of MotoGP, Im extremely saddened by the news that Valentino Rossi will retire at the end of the season.

What he has contributed to the sport over his 25 years is beyond measure, and while he was clearly in the swan song of his career, I still put his hat on every weekend that he is racing, and Im just praying that somehow, he can find the speed to get his 200th career podium

Vale Valentino...forever a legend and hero to 10s if not 100s of millions of fans around the World.

Yeh just read about it and figured you'd be all over it, a sad day but it's sadder watching a legend like that potter about mid field or worse and I think the time is right! No doubt he will still be in the paddock given his own junior teams and connections (and most likely do some test riding) but it never lasts forever no matter how good they are! Vale to Vale on a legendary career!!

Yep he's set himself up with plenty to do behind the scenes so good on him, a good time to bow out

and im sure he's not going to be short of a buck any time soon. Nice life!

Did he specifically say he won't be racing in MotoGP? so running and owning a team interspersed with some GT Racing in 2022?

Yep, he said that he decided to not ride for the VR46 team next year as having to relearn on a Ducati isnt something that can be done in a season, and that he didnt have the 2 or 3 years required to take on that challenge. Also, him retiring from racing the bikes means that one of his young lads can take his seat, which will most likely be Marco Bezzecchi.

He is definitely going to be entering some GT races though, so Ill have a reason to dust off his #46 hat whenever he is behind the wheel. He sure can peddle quite well on 4 wheels too so there will be something to cheer for

Yep will still be good to see him in other forms of motorsport where there isnt the same expectation to finish on the podium and lets face it, he's bringing a lot more attention to any event which is always welcome

He looks to be doing GT Am in WEC next year. Probably in a Kessel Racing Ferrari given they’ve worked together before.

That would be nice to see him driving a Fezza 488

Quali was exciting last night, and was stoked to see Jorge Martin grab pole! It looked like he had been beaten by 1/4raro for a moment, until his laptime was deleted for track limits.

Lots of Ducatis near the front, and Suzuki have their rear ride height device finally so their starts should be better, and race pace improved.

Also, Remy got pole in the Moto2 quali, and it was also announced that his team mate, Raul Fernandez will be coming across to the big bikes with him next year, staying as his team mate....srely thats the first time that has happened?

Moto3 and Moto2 were both good races...

                            Now for the big bikes

Damn seeing bikes on fire is never good. Glad Pedrosa is ok. Hopefully Salvatore is also.

Yep that was a pretty scary scene, especially initially, given what happened there last year.

It was great to see Dani get back on the spare and restart the second race.

Massive race for Jorge Martin!!! What a comeback given his massive crash in Portimao earlier in the year...for him to come back from that and take pole and the win is exceptional.

Brilliant race...roll on part 2 next weekend
