How the fuck did he barge him off the track lol. There was plenty of track for Max to continue to fight side by side with Lewis. Just as Lewis did 2 corners earlier. Lewis was alongside at corner entry and had every right to be there.

lewis ran wide into him. Not the other way round. Simple.
.... because every driver experiences the destructive potential of the effortless surge of power available through the smallest of body movements.

^^ Bullshit. They've both didn't want to back down, this is clear from the replay when Versateppen sees him in the mirror steers left give Hamilton room, only to try to get Hamilton to bail out, Hamilton said no, the rest is history.

No they both didn't back down and Verstappen lost out, Hamilton got a penalty served it and won. Maybe next time Verstappen will think twice.

Amazing. This thread is good to identify heretics that can't understand basic principles of the grip circle, geometry and projected trajectories.
He steered X to do y before z. Gtfo, do you think his vision tracking is glued to the mirror? So much is relying on the guy to use the space available and provided. Someone left literally a car width sufficient for the hard racing we want, and the next numpty managed an ama bonehead move into an object. Could be prime tyres, aero wake off the FW... Fuck knows. And it's irrelevant, sense and lack of grip is the responsibility of the driver otherwise we'd just understeer into everybody, punt to pass style or claim the dude that left 2 car widths of space wasn't enough.

The penalty applied regardless of its harshness or lack of says it all. Next.

Hamilton’s fault for mine. If he’d hit the apex they both would have got through the corner.

Max had to “turn in on him” at some point. At those speeds with that corner he probably was going to go off the track once he’d opened the steering once. What else was he supposed to do.

I like this guys videos (yes he’s a pro driver) and his explanation seems reasonably fair. From 3:40

Great to see plenty of passionate discussion in this thread about the crash on Monday morning.

Everything that can be said has been said already, so Illl just say...

                      Bring on the Hungaroring!!!!!

As a result Max retook the lead on that corner. And Max was quite aggressive in taking this inside line, but he was alongside so again it was Ham's responsibility to give him room by not taking his normal line to the apex which would have resulted in collision.

Now skip ahead to the corner where they collided, Max knew Ham was there, but still attempted to force his normal line into the corner. You just can't do that if there is a car beside you. You can't take a normal racing line into the apex of a corner if that line will result in a collision with a car that you already know is alongside you.
This is text book racing manoeuvres dude, its pretty basic most kids learn this in karting by 12-14yo?
Lewis didn't want the pass there, its an entire play to setup a pass. Lewis pinching max to the apex is to compromise Max's corner exit. Lewis opens the corner for himself to improve his exit on an alternate line and now he's in a position to make a move because max hasn't pulled 5 car lengths through woodcote.
There was never a serious move into Brooklands, it was to create an opportunity after it

I don't agree - there was a move on but Max just braked so late Lewis either relented or they touched.

I am guessing Lewis had decided by then the next move wasn't being backed out of.

It's the 3rd time Max has done it to him this season. Each time prior Lewis backed out of it and got overtaken. Lewis said enough is enough. Good on him.

Right, and by your interpretation if Max had taken the same attitude there would not have been a collision!

But Max is an over aggressive cunt = collision lol!
