Already been done by a mate of mine in Melbourne.
Just a stocker 1UZ 4.0 litre, pod filter, home-made extractors, and a Motec M800 (He works for Motec) and that's it.
One of the faster toys I've been in.
One of the more impressive things he did in it though was low-speed stuff - he went around a 90° corner tight-ish radius in 5th and accelerated away. Pulls like a mutha from 1500rpm in 5th.

1uz from memory had inter-cam gears midway down each cam and a belt on one each end .. gears on that one look to be down the belt end perhaps?

Yeah, it looks to be VVTi heads at least. They have the cam gears down the snout end.
