    S12 Track Hack

So I'm selling my S12. I don't really have time for two race cars any longer, so I'll keep my R32 and move this on.
It's got a lot of good shit in it, but probably needs a rewire because it's a bit messy and the suspension needs looking at from a setup point of view, there's nothing wrong with the components.
It made 204rwkw on 15 psi a couple of weeks ago and makes 235rwkw on 20 psi. It's done a 1:53 at Phillip Island (not with me driving!) and would quite easily go under 1:50 in the right hands.

You can get used Nismo mechanical LSDs for these out of Japan without too much trouble.

KAAZ used to do them as well.

Yeah, you can get a couple of different LSD's for the H190, but they are quite expensive.
If I was going to keep the car I was planning to put a Hilux diff in with a TruTrack, just because the ratio's are cheap and there's quite a few available.

Here's a video of it doing a reasonable pace at the island. The terrible sound is the old diff centre, now replaced.

Makes you realise how good an MX5 is when you read the list of mods and bolt ons. Seems like a good buy non the less. I would imagine it could get down to a 1:47 with a bit of fiddling.

Does seem like a decent rig for the dollar, so many race cars for that money are cheap arse builds or pretenders.

                            Fixed.

A lot of car for the $$. Good luck with the sale.

I think with a reasonable steerer it would manage that quite easily. George did a 1:53 in the rain on 13 year old 205/55/16 RE55's, I imagine that with some 235 A050's 1:47 would be quite achievable.
