I did the big block battery in the boot conversion in the Mustang. I used tinned and insulated 0 gauge cable from Jaycar, crimped and heatshrunk over it. Works a treat even in hot weather.

Not really interested in spending $27.95 a metre for the Jaycar stuff.

Altronics is marginally cheaper. Yes that is a rip off price.

          Ebay stuff I reckon.

Use welding cable, much cheaper than the audio/car stuff.

That's only 35mm2 2 Gauge and is more expensive then the 53mm 0 gauge that I had in my first post.

I might just try and get some 50mm2 welding cable though, that stuff I linked to on my first post is saying it is copper clad aluminium.

Bought mine by the meter at Autobarn. Couldn't say how much it was but potentially one of the more convenient sources.

We sell it at work buy only in rolls of 30 meters.

Most large battery places sell it buy the meter.

                      Wrong link: https://www.nationalwelding.com.au/5...g-cable-p-2258

But the 0 gauge that you have linked to is pretty rubbish stuff. Copper clad aluminium rather than annealed copper. Welding cable is also double insulated, rather than single insulated.

Some of the local suppliers are probably cheaper too, give your local non-chain welding mob a call.

In case it affects your sizing choice, the multi size lug crimpers at Jaycar go up to AWG 0/50mm^2.... But they don't stock lugs that big. I used them for the bajillion strand 0 awg cables in my solar battery bank and they seem strong and tight, but the vibration of a car is possibly a different matter.
