Gu patrol cummins 5.7 bt6 engine conversion, who in qld has done one

Hi Im looking for a workshop or someone that has done a 5.7 bt6 cummins engine conversion on a gu patrol before, I live on the sunshine coast and no one here has done one so they only give me a rough estimate which I don't like, what I would like is a definate quote from someone who has done it before
So any workshops that anyone knows that you think could do the job around qld??
    Thanks

    Have you spoken to Al?
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

        As above ^^^.

So much variability in fitment. Unless you know every step with your eyes closed every stage is a black cash hole waiting to be found.
        Mmmmmmmmm beer.

I'm sorry guys but a person who has done this job before on the same car would be able to give a pretty firm quote, can we just keep comments to people who u might think have done the job before preferably workshops

And honestly just a workshop that has done the conversion before would do so I can give them a bell

JZK25 on here. He's done an cummins engine and allison gearbox conversion on a late model patrol. He might see this thread and chime in or just look for http://www.performanceforums.com/for...hp?10398-JZK25 <<<<<< Al

What makes you think that even having done the conversion before, you can give a price? There are so many variables at play.

Like any big car related project budget double what you are told and be happy with leftover residual.

Be more specific, you already have the 6bt, gearbag or you want the whole package drive in drive out?

You got 30k dollarydoos laying around, thatís my estimate

Al did a Duramax conversion on the Patrol. Totally different engine, with totally different fitment issues.
Iirc the only Cummins swap was 68NR who put a 4bt into an F100.

Already have the bt6 and a conversion kit, so gearbox adaptor, engine mounts and a couple other things with the kit

4.5l cummins is the new hotness. Auto etcellence and diesel conversions australia (from memory) are selling kits now.
