ECU Tunes and Installs
The engine has been running with these spacers since day 1 and it has not had this fouling issue till we dropped 10psi out of the fuel pressure.
Not arguing btw. Just trying to set the scene and give all the info etc.
Do any of you know of longer nose injectors bigger than 1000cc? Bosch only seem to do long nose ones up to 1000 which won't be big enough I don't think. I'm already at 280 on petrol and the car will be tuned in e85 as well
Edit - or I could go back to sidefeeds but same issue with injector size.

wait wait wait are these 2200cc injectors?
are you sure you have the deadtime corrections set up properly? other thing to look at is monitor your injector voltages as you're revving the engine.
although now I've thought about it you should be able to tune around the wrong deadtimes, it'll just fuck up if you try to change your target lambda table.
probably be better off with the bosch 1250cc (modified 980cc injectors) with the long nose as far as your manifold setup is concerned.

I was running 2200s, then changed to 1550s as every cunt kept telling me the 2200s were the source of my problems. Deadtime shouldn't be the cause of this issue I don't think..
Are those modified injectors decent? I've always been suss on modded injectors. 1250 would probably be big enough as long as I don't try chase 30psi later haha

The wideband on my car was reading lean if anything? The widebands on the dyno were the same. Will bump the pressure back to 45psi again. As mentioned, it started killing plugs after I dropped the pressure to 35. Could bad atomization/incomplete combustion foul the plugs up without showing up as a rich value on a wideband?
Can't go 970 as mentioned before I need more fuel flow than that

spoke to bazda who runs a very similar setup to me. this is his injector setup, as you can see he has spacers to get them to clear his manifold too

He reckons he has had no issues. But he only runs on e85..1988 AW11 9A-GTE - project #1 | 1984 MA61 1JZ-GTE - project #2

How much do you need? if your running Bosch fuel pumps bumping the base fuel pressure up should get you over 1000cc...Originally posted by trdee View PostCan't go 970 as mentioned before I need more fuel flow than that
I'd also be drilling out the ID of those adaptors as big as you can and maybe look at drilling the side feeds and doing a poor mans air assistance setup..

i might be wrong but my calcs said 1000s wont get me past 300kw on e85? I am making 275rwkw on 98 octane so e85 should be past 300
dalecunt do you have an injector test bench? Im thinking i should whip my injectors and spacers out and actually test them to see if this is the issue
edit; it would require a fair bit of re-jigging of my fuel system but i could throw some sard 850 sidefeeds in there in the interim just to see if it solves the issues. they fit as per factory... only problem is i dont have any lol. i dont wanna buy fucken stacks of injectors ffs1988 AW11 9A-GTE - project #1 | 1984 MA61 1JZ-GTE - project #2

Here's another idea. A mate in qld running id1000s on his 9A machined out the factory sidefeed ports so that he could mount the injectors without lower spacers

current plan is to chop up the manifold as above. will report back after that...1988 AW11 9A-GTE - project #1 | 1984 MA61 1JZ-GTE - project #2
