Can a factory LS1 ecu be tuned to compensate for a dry shot of nitrous?

Yes. A mates lsa is tuned like that and that's on earlier ecu as they swapped reluctor wheel and back to cable tb

I think they used open/closed loop tables with an arming switch to change

I haven’t bothered with a dry one. Years ago there were guys using air temp to enrichen and retard and using the factory shift light output to turn on the gas. I don’t get it when you can run a plate behind the throttle and a short bit of hose from the port on the rail

Can be done, but as BPM mentioned, the port on the rail is right there to supply fuel. Any reason you want to run a dry shot in particular?
