ECU wires - where to buy?

Apologies if this has already been covered, I had a bit of a look but couldn't find much.

While I have my engine out of the car I want to make sub harnesses for the injectors and the ignition coils. These will attach to a Haltech Elite 2500 Premium Universal wire-in harness via a couple of Deutsch 8-pin connectors.

Anyway, where do you guys purchase good quality wire for this sort of application? Ideally with a range of colours that match the Haltech harness. I can just buy some random crap off eBay and hope for the best, but I thought it was worth asking to see if there are better options.

I was buying mine from the UK and Europe depending on the style I was chasing. Proper OEM style and colour combos.

Will try to dig up a URL

          buy a haltech with harness.

you will then have the wires / wire colours you need.

the long universal harness is quite long.

Ah, I see what you mean. Good point, I will be chopping up the universal harness so might as well recycle the offcuts!

The question remains though, I'd still like to know where to get good quality automotive wire in more than half a dozen colours. No doubt there will be a bunch of places I'll need it before my project is finished.

He helped me with lots of different stuff. Solid colours, colours with stripes etc. I bought a butt-load for about $300..

You just need to know what you want.

100% use the haltech harness to make your harness..

This is where I was buying the majority from. As I was trying to match different companies looms (OEM and aftermarket) having options for odd combos like pink with orange trace was good.

The available colours change depending on the gauge you select.

Was always very happy with the price, quality etc. was indistinguishable from OEM stuff in general.

Has anyone suggested just wire them into the engine harness?
Why add a join in and a sub-harness? Shit like that sounds like a good idea to people that havenít done this 50 times before and learned lessons.
