No real need for chamfered edge as it sits against a flat surface on both sides and would match neater if flat. I'll take care of the screw holes too, as I'm not 100% sure on the spacing.

            yeah ok, thats small.

rebuilding my TT to be 300 x 300 x 300, its a squeeze into my cabinet though (600 deep) so am looking at going coreXY but understanding the belt system is doing my head in.

Finally got mine working with the new motherboard.

              Lessons learned:
              • Every instruction guide on the internet is missing at least one critical step
              • Just working it out for yourself is usually easier
              • Don't confuse the X axis multiplier with the extruder multiplier - It's not pretty..

Onwards and upwards, I think my existing nozzle didn't like me chopping and changing between PLA and ABS so I'm looking at alternatives.

My printer is an i3 clone with a mk10 extruder (which doesn't appear to be common).

The hotness appears to be the Micro Swiss All Metal Hotend Kit for around $60 +freight. It seems to work nicely, but I'd still have to stuff around changing hotends every time I wanted to change filament which I don't like.

Having a poke around Banggood, I've found this complete extruder for $35 (teflon liner) and what I assume is a suitable all metal heat break for less than $2.

The mk8 stuff seems to be cheap and plentiful, and I can't see any reviews saying that the mk10 stuff is any better.

Would it be worth grabbing a mk8 just for ABS?
Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Can't be very good for that price or it's a super bargain.

Delage Type-S: The 103-year-old grand prix car saved by a 3D printer
In 2014, when the engine block cracked and water pumped out of the exhaust system, the Delage ground to a halt and was consigned to a mechanic's workshop in Castlemaine, 130 kilometres north-east of Melbourne
"I knew that to use the traditional method, which involves a wooden pattern, would be prohibitively expensive and with such a complicated casting it was possible it would take several attempts to get it correct," Mr Cowie said.

He decided that using digital technology to clone the original block would be the most accurate, efficient and non-destructive method to get the car back up and running.

The trouble was, a repair this complex had never been attempted before.

                            Recreating the engine block

Using powerful lasers, the engine block was scanned inside and out, saving thousands of hours of pattern making, with months of work done in a few days.

The scan data was then used to digitally repair the cracked engine on a computer before a sand mould was created using a 3D printer.
A local iron foundry cast the engine using the 3D-printed mould, before it was finished with traditional manual machining.
