Wow that's a lot of stuff.
Bed parts (4 parts) = 7g
Bed carriage P2 + P3 parts = 54g
Extruder housing = 22g
Motor mount = 21g
Rod support P1 (2) = 42g
Rod support P2 (2) = 38g
X-carriage (2) = 47g
Z-carriage (2) = 38g
---------------
269 grams x $0.50 (bulk rate) = $134.50 plus postage.
That's with the parts having the thickest skins and most dense fill, I can trim a fair bit of the fill back if you like .... I'm pretty sure the parts would all be plenty strong enough even with a lot less fill.
bed_carriage_p2_P-013.stl has a problem with the model, the software reckons there's 'no support' near the top of it, got another source for that part?

Hm, it is quite a lot of stuff. Does this part work better: http://www.thingiverse.com/download:85922 for the p2_P-013?Chris

Weird .... yes & no.Originally posted by takai View PostDoes this part work better: http://www.thingiverse.com/download:85922 for the p2_P-013?
No in that if I orient it on the print platform the best way it's still got that error. but If I stand it upright (not the best way to print it) it says it's okay but only using 6g of plastic ..... which isn't right.
I guess it'd print in the upright position but it would be much better if it were flat instead, which the software won't let me do.

OK, my calculated usage figures seem to tally well with the usage based on the tank volume. On their support forum, Form Labs has stated that the tank filled to the "Max Fill" line holds approx 200ml. After my 3 print runs, the resin tank is almost exactly half full.Originally posted by JamesB View PostThe 3 print runs that I've done have used an estimated 100 ml of resin (25.7ml, 25.8ml and 41.8ml), so I'm becoming less worried about the cost of keeping the printer fed.James

Hm. Looks like I can get the plastics for a Mendel for about $50 and it's relatively well supported with tons of mods. So I reckon I might do that one.Chris

Anyone have the ability to print me up a couple of knobs for an old (30 odd years) Chef Glendale gas stove. Have a few that are still functional, but at least two are unserviceable. I imagine you'd be needing a file to print from, so, assuming nobody has one for the particular type of knobs needed here, can somebody work from a functional example, scan it then print copies?Cheers, Richard

Dunno how this stuff would go in your 3D thermal plotters out there, but,
The nopics does a lot of craft type shit, working with different media/materials, she has just had delivered a couple large jars of small plastic beads, each bead approx 3-4 mm diam.
You put them n water at 60 deg celsis, they melt down, you then mould it into whater shape, or use it as plastic repair etc.
Product is caloed
"Plastimake" website is platimake.com. Bloke here in aaus impirting the stuff.
Reckon f the 3d plotters work in a thermal heat up basis, maybe these beads can be run through it.
Any good?if you get this far after reading the above, good on you!
