    Most small 3D printers has a nozzle that's 0.4 mm diameter. That one looks more like it's got a garden hose for a nozzle.

          Did a half print of our larger 4 piston calliper. This along with the print of the bridge will be sent off to a spring maker for some love...

            I would not use PVC primer, that tends to be a thick heavy fluid that dries on the surface leaving a residue. The primers work in conjunction with the solvent cement (it's like a 2-part mix)

            PVC/ABS cleaner is used to prepare the surface of the parts by cleaning and softening, it evaporates leaving nothing but surface of PVC remains permanently soft. The cleaner's main solvent is Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone, or MEK. The solvent cements used with cleaners are different to the ones used with primers.

            With ABS the cleaners do not soften the surface as much as with PVC. When we use MEK-based cleaners on ABS pipes/fittings you have to really work it hard onto the surface, it does not "attack" ABS nearly as much as it does PVC, so I would try a cleaner, not a primer.

            We use this stuff from Henkel in Germany;

            It is available in Australia from a few companies (including us) and i'm pretty sure our company in the US would also have it.

            But you should be able to find plain MEK on it's own from industrial suppliers.

              To get a smooth finish has has anyone tried using the Acetone in a glass bowl heated on the printer bed technique? It seems to be the easiest and quickest(10 Minutes) way to get the smooth finish.

              If I have some time I will try it out, it is just that I have no real need for a smooth finish.

                    There was someone doing 3d printed wedding invitations at a wedding expo yesterday, might be away for one of you to make some extra cash if you are artistic and/or looking to make some coin from your printers. She was about $5/invitation I think which I thought was expensive but compared to normal wedding invites its actually about normal if not cheap.

                        Printed text and no background, so not really 3d as such but printed with a 3d printer.

                        Sort of like this

                        Im sure it can be varied to pretty much whatever you want.

                          How many hours would one of those take to print?

                                So after electricity and materials, they're making about $0.10 each on them.
