    Ta.
    Looks like I might have some money coming in, so I'll be able to afford a decent turbo for the thing at last.

      But seriously. AMauto "rotated" GTX3071. I used to think the stock locations turbos were good, but the exhaust housing really holds them back. Their peak power is good, but they don't respond like a garret or precision.

        As long as it bolts onto the standard bits, it's good.

          I'll lend RZ the jig to make one Bill. Then just buy a normal T3 GTX3071R. It will make 300kw and be responsive.

              Fitting this thing on Sunday/Monday;
              Fitting kit wont suit my manifold but aside from that the finish on it is exceptional, even the small things, name brand blanking plugs in the oil feed and drain, the gaskets are from US made gasket paper and the coated paper covering the exhaust housing is the same shit we get raw cast parts at work in.

              Could all be fake Chinese shit but its got me fooled.

                This is still going strong and skidding tops for anyone interested. For a turbo I took a gamble on its not bad.

                For the money, would buy another one.

                  Gurus. Would putting one of these on a rx7 FD 13b tt be silly? Rotary exhaust temps put even the big names to the test let alone no names.

                    Most of their compressor/turbine/housing combos tend not to be rotary friendly. You would have to pick carefully, probably better off secondhand garrett if you want a roller or getting a borgwarner plain bearing turbo better suited to the 13b for similar money or a proboost copy/hybrid with a largish turbine flow to compressor ratio.

                      Target is max 300kw at the wheels. Absolute max. More into mid range and general driveability.

                      Thanks Slides.

                        Ah internal wastegate would be preferable. Can't believe the $$ increase from a decade ago.

                          You could probably get away with the largest od the sxe200 series turbo if you are all about response and don't want over 300. Sxe360/362 with a ~0.9 a/r would probably be ok too.

                          Unless you intentionally choke the exhaust it's unlikely anything other than the internal gated BW EFR turbos will hold pump fuel friendly boost on a rotary.

                          Something like this would be good in terms of response and target power vs cost.

                            Proboost reckons $1500 for GTx35 type unit 1.06 turbine AR with internal gate. I was thinking more like GTx3076 0.86 turbine AR with internal gate. But you reckon that's too small/restrictive for the gate to regulate properly i.e. boost spike +20psi?

                              I've got a brand new bush bearing billet wheel 3076 with 1.06 housing if you want to try something for cheap.
