Oh, and when your dickhead machinist puts your cometic gaskets in, make sure he machines the block and heads to 50ra, otherwise the things leak like a sieve and fill your sump with water.
So the engines come apart for the last time because I'm going to fix the cnut of a thing myself now. The gaskets are going to get a spray of Hylomar, head studs get the permatex aviation gooey gasket shit, and just for good luck I'm tipping in a bottle of bars leaks.
Holden workshop manual recommends 65FtLb torque of head bolts, but ARP Head stud kit for 7/16th 8740 CrMo says 75FtLb so that's what it's getting.
Gave what I could a good squirt of CRC to flush the crap out, but was going to run some cheapo oil till it warms up then dump it and repeat the process just to make sure all the iced coffee is out of the engine.

Does anyone see any problems with this plan?, without the usual sarcasm about V6 commodore engines, because half of you own one it seems Ha Ha.

Yeah. The date on that dyno run was april, before it fucked up the first time after the you beaut rebuild and I found all this other stuff wrong with it.
I checked for bent valves on the passenger side head, and I replaced everything exactly as it had been, and made sure the inlet manifold was sealed up good. filled up the oil and coolant, ran it for 15 or 20 minutes till it was warmed up and bled the cooling system, the next day, thursday it was, I go out and was going to fire it up again, cheak the coolant... Hmmm that's down a bit, check the oil... HMmmmm THAT LOOKS LIKE SHIT!!!
Dump the oil and coolant, pull the rocker covers, pull the manifold pull the head I'd removed. Water all over the gasket surfaces. Tonight I've pulled the other head, the one I hadn't touched, and sure enough wet all over. Not sealing.

And old mate quoted me six, then charged me 8900 or there abouts, and then stuck me another 770 to fix his fuckups if I ever wanted to see my engine again hand over the money.

So, yeah, tomorrow I get a lawyer son. A real good one.

            fuck.
dont let this prick get away with being a fucktard. Im sure people like TK will agree that people like this tarnish the whole industry and make some people less likely to spend big, thus taking money out of the scene.

Ive only ever got one motor/box rebuilt, cost 2 grand, was fairly stock - just hot cam, tough diff and better oil pick up. Pretty happy but the place that did it have been going for 30 odd years and have always had a presence in local speedway, so they were a pretty safe bet.
