Sparkplugs for 1MZ-FE camry? + Fucked electric mirrors?

    Also posted on Toymods.

My Camry has its 100K service due. Toyota wants $320 so they can get fucked.

It needs the plugs done. What type of plug does it need? I supposes its those expensive ones due to the 100K service interval.

Also got any tips on replacing the rear plugs? I guess you have to unbolt the plenum eh.

Also the electric mirrors don't work at all anymore. There is no mention of mirrors on any of the fuses so I checked each one and they were all good. I unplugged the switch for the mirrors and probed the plug and couldn't find an active anywhere on it with the accessories on. Anyone got diagrams or a clue on what could be fucked?

That information is cleverly hidden away in things call books.

no need to undo the plenum. just a rachet, uni joint and a short extension. it's fiddly but doable. yes, platinum plugs. timing belt at 150k ?

mirrors are on the cigarette lighter fuse.

see that shit all the time, because there is no mention of it on the panel, but it's always because some kook has been trying to plug some cheap arse chinese phone charger into their ciggie socket, shorting shit out.

are you sure the fuse is fine?

Yeah some fiddly ratchet work should do it on the plugs. How much do those platinum plugs cost these days? T belt is at 150K, thank fuck.

My cigarette lighter socket is pretty fucked. Its half falling out because of constant use with the GPS, but it still works. I might check the wiring at the back in case the wires run from the socket to the mirrors.

stop being cheap and ripping off poor underpaid mechanics. $350 is a bargain.
Turns out, far too much has been written about great men and not nearly enough about morons

I didn't read the thread but these two issues seem totally unrelated to me.

Oh yeah the old Commodores with power windows have a weird circuit breaker hidden above your knees in the dash.
