    dodgy homemade distributor spanner

I figured since news.com is higher on the "list of idiotic things to post" than my dodgy home "creations" i decided id show one more lol.

Need to tweak the timing on the green cars engine, and since the dizzy hold bolt is in a cunt of a spot anyway without all the extra hoses and crap ive "hidden" behind the block, i made a newer version of the holden mechanics best friend.

    The bent 9/16 spanner..

My variant means i grab the handy non slip (threaded rod lol) handle well above the dizzy cap, quick flick of the wrist, bolt loosened.

Also works well on the roller rocker adjusters on cylinder 8 which is under the brake booster, version 2 will include a handle capable of supporting the hex key required for adjusting lash.

Probably saved myself 10 bucks! :D

Harrop Hi-rise will fix this problem also.

I'm a little concerned about you as well.....

      LOL.

I got one o dem, but I bought mine like it - it has 1/2" & 9/16" ring spanners on the ends, comes up real high above the dissy & you can pull it apart & put a 3/8 drive adaptor on either end.

Fucking great tool, don't know how I lived without it.

I reckon it cost about $10 too....

I needed one and didnt have it, and couldnt be arsed going to look for one at the shop...

Ill admit to being bored but thats it :knock:

the 10 bucks i "saved" will probably cover the cheap spanner i used, plus the gas to heat it up for bending, and the bandaids for the holes in my finger when i slipped and hit the fucken vice.

Dont worry though, im sure youll get steel in tasmania one day. :D:D:D

We've got steel. It's just a cunt getting the smithy to work.

PS i just bent a spanner so i turns closer to the bellhousing.

Greenhj, you forgot to include the drill bit thats now most probably farked after drilling through the spanner i stuffed 2 drill bits turning a drop foged 7/8 double ring spanner into a holden 6 head valve remover

a proper backyard engineer would have cut a hole in the firewall to access dizzy from inside cab.

I've got one of those proper ones too, one end for Ford, other for Holden. Hadn't used it in about six years until recently, probably won't use it for at least another six!
