I don't know about power out put but there are 2 VN wagons that run Kwinana every now and then. One has a 5litre with a blower and runs in the 11's or 12's (can't remember) and a 3.8 V6 one with a Yella Terra blower kit that does about the same times.
i've spent a bit of time driving a vs ss with exhaust/intake/tune and it's painfully slow, i don't think you could get by without mechanical forced induction or fuckloads of gas
so, how shit are these engines... crank, rods, etc? pistons cope with boost or are they a bit of a time bomb? heads ok for boosted applications?
The stock motors are gutless but pretty dang tough, word is that 10psi into them is pretty safe if the tune is good.
My short motor is pretty close to a stock VN, the only extras I got are ARP rod bolts, ARP main studs, cast ACL stock replacement pistons, steel top rings & a balance.
It copes with 480rwhp no probs.
ps: camtech didn't want to know about my bike cam... changed their mind, they don't do bikes.... nice of them to tell me that when i was on the phone about it for 20 minutes
270rwhp really does sound low for a Turboed V8. So a falcon 4.0 shits on a VN V8? I know the 4.0 is a good motor but I would have thought a VN V8 would shit on it?
