Is that WRX on doing the job Bill? Looks a bit small to me, particularly for a V6 turbo.

thermostat for the oil cooler. you dont want cold oil flowing through the cooler. it takes longer to reach optimum engine temp (if you get there at all)Originally posted by Bart View PostThermostat for the thermo fan?
similar to jza80 tt factory oil cooler/warmerOriginally posted by Billzilla View PostFWIW in an effort to make the car even more simple, lighter, and leak oil less, I've now gone to a WRX oil cooler.
Yet to be run but I reckon it'll work all right.

the stock one isnt too good on hot days with extended hard driving.Originally posted by nine2nine View PostIs it worth putting a oil cooler on a 2jz, or does the factory one work just fine? Looking at taking some load off my cooling system.
plus getting rid of the factory one means you can get rid of all the coolant lines on the cold side of the engine (Iscv, and throttle are the other 2 things that has coolant fed to them that you dont need)
also if your trying to keep coolant temps down mount the oil cooler under the passenger headlight, not infront of the rad.
