Haha, yeah youre right, i used to see it that way before but got used to it, thats why i didnt know what you meant.
But that manifold will be changed eventually, later i will fabricate a twin inlet plenum with two throttle bodies, this will allow me to use a 300zx style intercooler which has twin inlets and outlets.

          No worries mate
Spoke to Meridian and he suggested fan forced air cooled oil cooler if i mount it under the gaurd, water cooled is good if your radiator has plenty of margine and mine hasnt got to much left in it as the fan on the radiator is on quite a bit and on a hot day it hardly turns off.
Fan forced seems pretty good at this stage.

Pic of my setup which works well according to the oil temp gauge. Guard is removed, pic is taken from the side, front of car is to the right, the front cooler is for the PS and forms part of the intake ducting, back cooler is for engine oil.

That's quite a nice little install there Richard. Got a photo from the front with the bumper and guard on?

Yep, the boundaries are basically dictated by the guard and spoiler/nose piece. PS oil cooler is not connected in the pic.

Great idea re using multiple coolers with the one 'chamber'.

Will have to investigate how I can steal that idea and use it

That is a nice set up
Mine will be a little different i think, my oil cooler will be virtually enclosed under the gaurd which will mean i would need a fan and duct. I think.
Someone here said mount it behind the head light in the engine bay but i would prefer it outside the engine bay so heat can escape better, the engine bay as it is gets quite hot.

Used a hole saw to cut a big hole in the floor after that pic was taken, in case water got trapped during heavy rain. Yeh, all my own design

Possibly a little overkill in the drainage there Richard!

Maybe, and it might let out air that would otherwise go through the coolers .... ?

Yuh, I would have poured a bucket of water in there and the drilled a few 10mm holes in the lowest spot (where the water puddled!). Oh, well, 60mm holes can usually be nicely closed with a couple of pieces of race tape!

Yeh hole was a bit over the top but oil temp is good for a turbo 6 with oil squirters so the it can stay. Strong believer in ducting coolers, rather than just hanging them out bare.
