Unless runnning slicks I wouldnt bother.

You still have to steer with them though right? can you steer a drag car with any old shit rubber?
I touched my brother's wang and all I got was this lousy signature. If only I had a POWERCHIP to flick instead.

it's not like they have to turn corners...
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

Duh, but how much steering reliability/precision do you need? Would you need at least a certain spec tyre? How good are the front tyres on top fuellers?

Got VE commo calipers, the people who made the brake kit said "needs 17inch wheels or bigger" ive got 18's and have not tried anything smaller.

Will most probably be running drag radials. Front runners/smaller lighter rims do make a difference, a mate found a consistant 0.2 off his time. The main reason is to take some response out of the steering. If you've driven down the highway with 18's on the front and 15's on the rear and given the wheel a bit of a shake you will know what i mean, this is noticable at a 100 so i can imagine it would be much worse at 200.

On a formula ford with slicks we went about half a second quicker going from 20 pounds to 60 pounds with no other changes. That would be the worst case scenario though as soft slicks are the hardest to turn.

ANDRA has banned the use of space saver wheels and tyres at the drags, so don't bother. I know a few people that have use the tyres as front runners and they have been fine, up to about 120ish mph.

I used the 17inch space saver wheels on my VE. The worked fine for 100+ runs with proper front runner tyres. If you want proper 17' front runners you will need to spend about $2500 for proper wheels and tyres.

If you are running radials i wouldn't bother. I went 12.25 with slicks and front runners and 12.32 with radials and 19's on the front.

Run the smallest, light weight proper wheel you can find with the smallest "eco" low rolling resistance tyre you can find?

Ford Focus LR models had an alloy space saver. ST170
This was combined with a pirelli tyre that ran at 60psi.

Seem to be very well built. Took stuff out of the boot last and did a check. Lucky, as it was down to lower than 20 psi.

Done that - but not on a drag strip. In a Silvia. Was, um, interesting.
