Also remember leg force. I did my initial calculations with a 50kg leg force, but when fatigue kicks in it gets a lot more dicey.

        allright, im well confused now.

basically what im working on is a stock nissan 350z. Almost every drift car everywhere runs stock brakes, maybe slightly larger rotors and upgraded pads, no matter how much weight they take out of them. And they still brake fine

So on that theory how do i work out what the stock nissan 350z mc sizes should be.....

Seems like you are not capable of working it out- you have been given a variety of ways to approach the problem and have not resolved it.

Perhaps you need to be told.

I have a 350Z with Brembos, and if I was going to fit a commercial balance bar I would use the default sizes:

          5/8" front, 3/4" rear, 3/4" clutch.

A balance bar is also adjustable and has a wide range.

sorry to have upset you momus, i was in a rush when i typed that and i guess i didnt make myself clear. i was actually asking what information regarding a stock 350z would i need for you to work out the calculation for me. i dont have the brembo option either so i assume that would alter the 5/8 and 3/4 sizes you suggested

              Yes, same answer.

It has proven to be a reliable starting point for many cars that have front and rear disc brakes.

You can assume that Nissan has done their work well and matched the piston sizes to the disc diameter (and disc weight, which is important for the thermal balance- the equal rise and fall of the disc temperatures).

Are there any floor mounted pedal boxes that just use a single brake master cyl? Is that a dumb idea?

It'll just be a shitload easier to fit and with a bias valve i can't see why you wouldn't get a decent result? Seems to work fine on the Celica. Possibly a bit trickier finding a good size master cyl to use?

Easier to fit in what way?

Refer to Zulu PF racer thread It has a pedal box in there but not the greatest looking bit of gear. The twin brake res present some challenges in such a small car. Not insummountable, just looking for an easier option and a single master cyl would be better packaging wise.

                        thread URL? :p

It can be done, using just a single pedal which is either used with a tandem mc or as a clutch pedal.. however using a tandem mc, means its a shitload longer than say a compact single outlet mc.

compact MC which is only 80mm in length

Vs Tandem which is a lot longer..

                            Here's the link

                            http://performanceforums.com/forums/...81688-The-Zulu

You can see in a couple of the images that the outside master cyl of the current twin set is a bit exposed. A single MC would tuck it inboard a bit more....i haven't measured anything up yet, just exploring options that might make life easier.
