If you don't mind a little spend, a triple plate Tilton carbon carbon 7.25" and matching flywheel is by far the best option.

Even with no sprung hub or marcels they are easy to drive- nothing like a similar sized metallic on off switches...

Jim Berry does do nice work but unless he has developed a good twin plate I would guess that one of his single plates would disappoint. That was my experience anyway with a big torque 420whp turbo engine. Ended up with a twin plate Exedy which is nicer to use and does not slip.

That actually makes a lot of sense, no other Xgrip I've driven feels like mine. I bought it direct from Textralia though? Not to worry, insert Z where I sad X in my posts above...

Thanks Dale, I'll ask Pete in the next couple of days when he receives mine for a rebuild.

If I had the dollars I would go for the Katech LS9 setup

OK, just spoke to Pete, confirmed mine is a Z so ten points to Dale for diagnosing it over the net.

Promised less shudder with new ancillaries so we will see when it goes back in.

and have you had a play with any of the ls9 twin plates?
