nah I got no garage. Uncle, however, has a garage
Turns out, far too much has been written about great men and not nearly enough about morons

or if it is as clutch monkey shows, a relatively common chamber, this may be in lieu of a crossover pipe?
yep most seem to have a common chamber, makes the sound smoother or something, although from memory the 996 has the banks separate - will check.

short pipes with hotdogs - that shouldn't be very loud

Does that use one of those turbine mufflers?

That is average for most cars (for decent systems) yea you get less steel in a MR car's exhaust but hay it is high end.

$3,000 isn't THAT bad, Off the shelf system for a dunnydore is similar for good stuff.

That said, there's about 4x the material in a Commodore system.

If it's anything like the Ferrari system I welded back together after the multi thousand dollar piece of junk collapsed internally, there's 3 chambers (for each bank), perforated tube and walls in the first two (guessing originally packed with fibreglass), the final wall, solid but with a balance tube and the outlets starting at the first wall......no U pipe snaking in and out. Muffler did have multi-layer construction, SS on the outside either for heat or to make you think, you weren't getting bent over so much.

Slice the original muffler in half and use it to copy and make up a new one? (or get Uncle to do it)
It shouldn't be to hard getting the shit that's packed inside it?
