Another vote for T400 (or any 3 speed really).

You could even investigate a 3sp Jatco.

IMO on the street where you won't be properly stalling it up a 3spd should be a bit snappier and less doughy than a PG due to the shorter ratio 1st gear.
Adjustable cam gears for 1FZ-FE now ready for sale - 10 degrees advance/10 degrees retard. Suitable for all variants of 1FZ-FE.

(adjustable scissor gear for changing separation angle between the intake and exhaust cams coming soon)

International sales welcome - PM me for pricing.

I'd prefer a 3sp auto if it's driven on the street & you also think you can make it hook up on launch at drag strip...if not then powerglide as second choice.
Th400 will be much cheaper & heaps stronger than a th350 with only real benefit of being smaller, easier to fit.
an easy fix is get a mate to drive in front of you at 60 then 80 then 100 and mark in on your speedo with some liquid paper.

I would go a 3 speed aswell if you going to be doing any street driving.

Mate has a 2speed glide and its rather fail on the street.

How heavy is your mate's car?
I own a two and a half litre Commodore

Don't they say if it is under tyred then you want the glide so less potential to break out in wheel spin at the drags?

Its an S15 200sx. 600+rwhp. Only problem is, if you want to roll on from about 70, its too fast for first gear, too slow for top. Other then that, its ok.

                    Yeah I wouldn't be using a glide in a 1250kg 2 litre
