CEL - Kia grand carnival U0001 - High Speed Controller Area Network (CAN) code

    Hi,

Just got the check error light today..

The ODB code is above U0001.

I have noticed that fuel consumption has been worse (always pretty bad though (10-11l/100km highway and 15+ around town)

its been a bit hesitant putting around town, kind of rough but not so that you would think there was somethign seriously wrong

Some googling says anything from the MAF being dirty/malfunctioning or crank angle sensor?

Air filter has recently been replaced.

    Any ideas on this?

U0001 is a generic code outlining "some sort of communication fault on the HS-CAN" as in the Engine Control Module can't communicate with some other module or modules, on the HS-CAN network.

It is not anything particular to do with engine performance, and I don't know about Kia's, but in Ford, Mazda, Jaguar, Land Rover, etc, this code does not put on the Check Engine Light...

There is probably another code set, one starting with a P, which has put on the light...

Does it have ignition leads, or coil on plug?

If leads, replace them if they look even slightly shit. Hyu/Kia are notoriously bad for leads.
