no cool, I'll organise something else, either borrow a car from a friend or see if there are some public transport options as its the worst place to be stranded along that stretch of road.

I would pull the rad and make sure its clean by taking the tank off, this could be the beginning of you dramas pushing water out now it has airlocks making it look like a head gasket. Make sure you have circulation by checking the heater heat with fan flat out, it shoukd maitain reasonable heat( some waterpump impellors fall off etc) If its rad is clean, all air purged from the system then look at gaskets.

Fill the overflow bottle as full as it can go. Run the car with the cap off. . If thereís big bubbles coming up then it needs a head gasket.
On the way home from the gym, head a pop, blew radiator cap off - so not sure wtf that was noticed the spout of the collant bottle looks a bit deformed?

I kept it running, filled up the bottle to the top and revved it, could definately see the water/coolant getting bubbly?

So it is likely to be headgasket or dodgy replacement reservoir?

          Head gasket.

Pull dipstick - does the engine oil look like a milkshake by any chance?

You need a split/ crack between oil gallery and cooling system to get oil in water, most head gasket issues is just combustion pressure straight into the cooling system.

Yeah, a Tee-Kay carbon monoxide test would confirm it.

Let me save you some diagnosis time.
                  Itís the head gasket.

They often blow and allow compression pressure into the cooling system without causing water to get into the oil.

As mentioned earlier, chemiweld could possibly be your best friend. Ive seen it allow cars to run for years after and have also experienced it do nothing useful. You don't have much to lose by giving it a shot.

I have gone the chemiweld route and we'll see how it goes, going to trade it in on another small and new car so end of story

That chemiweld is brilliant stuff. My old feroza spat the entire gasket behind #4 clean out, was pissing coolant everywhere. 1 bottle, still leaked, 2 bottles you ripper. Parked it and found something to trade it in on, drove it straight there and got that warm fuzzy feeling of fucking over a car yard. They didn't even pop the bonnet. I did however see the bonnet up a week later when it was parked out the back heh
