had to get the tunnel widened, the shifter is easy cause the toploader has the linkages outside the box, its worth the effort and the $$$.....

SIKMA, I used to have one of those vertical gate shifters in the Cortina, but couldn't wait to take it off! To each their own, i guess...

Definately change the shifter as everyone else has pointed out. I ended up using a modified Hurst/Mr Gasket shifter and was very happy with it. Just be aware that the two above mentioned shifters are designed for L/H drive cars and mount on the wrong side of the transmission tunnel unless modified.

            Ignius:
The black lever is for reverse.

            PS:
In regards to strength, my box was just about standard and i never had an once for trouble with it after many years of racing. I did however go through thousands and thousands of dollars worth of specialised "unbreakable" diff parts

                    i

I have already listed name and number for renagate, he often doesn't answer the phone, but if you leave a message, he will ring you back, he is very good like that. If you give him your email, he will email you a full catalog/brochure about them, and they are VERY good, billet stick and gear nob, very professional. They are also not any dearer than any of the above shifters, and are a true full sequential shifter, its impossible to miss a gear!!!!
